Botswana - Once & Still A Place of Refuge From Tyrants
So, over quite some decades, what is now Botswana was flooded with peoples on the move, trying to escape the Kololo to the north, the Ndebele and the Portuguese to the east, the Zulus, the Afrikaners and the Griqua to the south, and later the latter two and the Germans to the west, and other ivory and slave hunting tribes, not to mention starvation, and particularly brutal massacres, indeed, death itself.
